GREAT ENDING Jan 7, 2010
Betty Neels is my favorite. I love the tender emotions and loving relationships depicted in her stories. In "Caroline's Waterloo" the ending was a surprise. The main male character had seemed cold and uncaring throughout, and I was having a hard time liking him. Caroline, on the other hand, was determinedly positive and loving, seeking to find the best in someone she loved. At the end, the way she decided to bring things to a head was novel. You could place yourself in her shoes, waiting, waiting there for who knows what to come. Loved the anticipation, loved the ending.
