A thorough and detailed study Feb 4, 2010
by jgp821
A detailed social history of Nazi Germany during the years before the outbreak of WWII. The book ranges widely across all aspects of German society, and explodes some of the myths about the attitudes and reactions of the German population to the rise of the Nazi state. Detailed information is given regarding the power politics practiced by Hitler, but the book is focused on Germany and is not a political history of Europe in the 1930's.
Well written and eminently readable, and backed up with exhaustive notes.
