Bums is the best book I've read about the importance of a baseball team to a city,
and one of the best team histories as well. Golenbock is a masterful interviewer
and a fine writer who understands how a piece of American culture - in this case,
baseball - can illuminate developments in the whole culture. He also knows a
great story when he hears one.
