Reviting Nov 13, 2007
I had to read this book for a class and i thought, here goes another boring book, but i am surprised to say it was certainly not so. I found this book to be not only detailed and insightful but also revitingly funny. Garrels talks about her experiece as a journalist during the Iraq war, her thoughts held me spell bound, i just could not put the book down.
She opens up a world of information, one that we often tend to forget. We so often take jounalists and their work for granted but Garrels allowed me to realise that their job is equally as inportant as that of a doctor's or a lawyer. She allowed the me to feel what the Iraqis feel and to understand their point of view and how they felt about the war and the uncertainity they feel for a secured and safe future.
I believe that the concept behind the title could be left to interpretation because i certainly could interpret it in a variety of ways. I say read the book, interpret it as you like but most of all enjoy it; it was well written.
