C.S Lewis did a great job in tackling this difficult problem. There are numerous Biblical passages within the book. This is a must have for your library. No matter who are, this is a question everyone will consider.

Lewis nails it when he talks about our selfish nature and why pain is the only way to change us. He shows that God is good to the age-old skeptics question about why would a good and loving God allow pain and evil in the earth. Read it if you want to be set free from endless empty self-centeredness.
