The ISBN system was devised beginning in 1967, and books published prior to then don't have "editions" associated with them. It's very similar with movie, music and video game UPCs. Gabaldon fans must have this book. Period. She gives great tips, helpful hints, insights into her process, and back-story on all the novels in the series she had written to date. It made me want to re-read everything from the beginning.... which I will NOT do, but now I want to!
I have read all of Diana Gabaldons books and am just enthralled with all of them so I read this companion book to the first 3 of hers cover to cover, but only glanced at the bibliography. While reading this book I constantly went back to reread the excerpts from the first 3 that were mentioned in the companion. Great and so much fun.
