  • Great Recipes for a guy who is not much of a cook Jan 2, 2014
    by Richard K

I started reading the recipes in the NY times more years ago than I care to remember. They seemed simple and easy and something I might be able to do. When the first cookbook came out I bought it and loved it. Over the years it disappeared but I found it again. I bought one for my niece. The recipes are generally excellent and great for mothers without a lot of time. This cookbook should be on every kitchen shelf.

I love this book...had it once a long time ago and it became a victim of moving! It is once gain timely and appropriate , as so many people do not know how to cook, think it is time consuming and turn to junk processed food. Try one of these simple recipes or ideas and see what real food tastes like. Youlll be amazed!!

  • Great Dinners in a Hurry Dec 11, 2008

This book of recipes by Pierre Franey, based on his New York Times column in the 1970s "60-Minute Gourmet" was my bible during my working newlywed days (and dinner preparations). I've started buying the out-of-print copies for my grandchildren who are newlywed and working -- always needing a "quick" dinner that is both elegant and excellent. Grab up a copy while they are still available.
