I read an essay by Whitehead in PW and then read about his new book Zone One and had this, his first book, recommended to me while I waited. It is very much a first book, with lots of great language and ideas and was a bit of a hard read; but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The man can write and the allegory on race was quite good. It is a serious and somewhat convoluted book and I wish I could encourage more friends to read and talk about it
