Very good, not excellent Feb 20, 2014

I first encountered this book in the library. I checked it out and made several recipes, one of which was outstanding, the others merely ok. The combinations of flavors while intriguing in the book, don't translate as well to the plate. My mom saw the library copy at my house and expressed interest in owning a copy, which I purchased this one as a gift for her. She likes the book; I prefer the vegetable recipes of Deborah Madison, Jack Bishop and Yottam Ottolenghi to these.
