Although Friedman has many brilliant ideas throughout the whole book, there are just a few minor things that I disagree with. One argument that I found while reading "The Age of Noah" found in second part of the book is that Friedman talks about how environmentalist that are known for doing ecosystem services push aside the bugs and the weeds. In Hot, Flat, and Crowded these environmentalist help people who cannot afford food from the stores and also plumbing. For example, "They supply fresh water, they filter pollutants from streams, they provide breeding groups for fisheries, they control erosion, they buffer human communities against storms and natural disasters, they harbor insects that pollinate crops or attack crop pests, they naturally take CO2 out of the atmosphere" (143). Also, Friedman states, "It is easy for them to overlook the fact that these creatures make up most of the organisms and species on Earth" (143). I disagree with Friedman?s statement about how some environmentalist classified as "ecosystem services" push aside the small things such as bugs and weeds. I believe they acknowledge them but the most important thing is that they are trying to help humans survive who cannot afford living. They have to focus on the more important things in society and that?s make sure people are able to survive. While they are helping those people they are also helping out the insects and plants by a variety of ways, as shown above. This is why I believe that the little things are noticed but their just so much they we can do while trying to help others in that type of situation.
Another argument I can make while reading "Fill Er? Up With Dictators" also found in the second part of the book, is that Friedman states "Our addiction to oil makes global warming warmer, petrodicators stronger, clean air dirtier, poor people poorer, democratic countries weaker, and radical terrorists richer" (81). I believe that part of this statement is wrong because it mentions that democratic counties become weaker because we depend on other counties for oil. I believe this not to be true because the United States is just preserving our oil in case of an emergency. Another reason why we depend on other countries for oil is because we do not have enough oil to fulfill our demands. The United States is one of the strongest counties on Earth compared to counties overseas.
To sum up, my overall reaction to this text was positive, although there was a few points that I disagreed with. Friedman touched on many important, and heartbreaking points that should change many individuals look on the world. I would recommend this book to everyone. All of the points mentioned in this book should be known, and realized by everyone if we are seeking for successful change. I would read another book just like this, or by the same author, in the future, because this text is very informative.

It should be required reading for all voters, especially TEA Party advocates. I appreciate the author's positive approach and thorough analysis. That the presentation is well researched is an understatement. The 2nd Release added a current perspective, and made the book a stronger argument for immediate action, although the original release was most convincing. Either release should be on everyone's must read list.
