I never knew much about the elements and now I can tell stories and laugh about what I don't know, and share a few insights about what I learned from this book that our book club shared.

A delightful and insightful history of the Periodic Table made all the more interesting by the diverse personalities and motivations of the personages responsible for the development of the table. As a chemist, one is very early introduced to the Periodic Table but not the personal stories behind its development. An excellent read right up to the latest developments in the field.
