I loved the grandmothers' biographies at the beginning of the book, but the rest of the book is information that most people already know.

Some of the book was obvious to me, whether I had been taught by my own Grandmother or just figured it out, but may not be to others. I can cook most things and keep my house clean, but now I have cheaper and greener ways to do both. I love her sense of humor and interesting view of things. My favorite quote from the book is on page 211, in reference to grocery shopping: "Think of the grocery store the same way you'd think of a male model. Everything you should be putting in your mouth is on the outside, and there's hardly anything of substance on the inside." How hilarious is that?! I just ordered Erin Bried's other book "How To Build a Fire" and I can't wait to read it.
