This is the first book in this series that I have read. I usually like books set in the Middle Ages, however this one isn't top on my list. The plot was simplistic, the writing was passable. I don't think I'll go out of my way to read additional volumes in the series.

A clever plot -- and interesting to read about the Catholic Church and English and Welsh society in the 12th century.
