When I picked this book up, I expected the usual werewolf story--an attractive character, lots of pack dynamics, etc.

Instead I found a story of a tortured guy who became a werewolf and had his whole life destroyed. When the time was right (or wrong), he turned into a raging animal that killed whatever he wasaround.

This is no romance novel. The central character is cursed and there is no cure. How he adjusts, how his life changes is the subject of the book, It is not about a pretty, sexy character. and there is no happy ending.

The character is well defined. His struggles to overcome the challenge presented makes for interesting reading.

This was a first novel, and the writing was a little rough in spots, but overall much better than a lot of paranormal fiction being published these days...

It'sobvious that the writer meant this to be the start of a series., and it would have been a good one.
