As a vegan I get excited by any new vegan cookbook. This book had a lot of hype, unfortunately it did not stand up to it. I find that the author's recipes (as in her other books) merely give me ideas of recipes to do rather than the listed recipe. I rarely try one of her recipes and like it without making my own changes. Her desserts and muffins, however, are almost always delicious.

this is the perfect gift for yourself, one who has established themselves as vegetarian or some who may be turning over that new leaf of vegetarianism. it can be scary to those not of vegetarian ilk and unfamiliar, reassuring that adequate nutrition can be accomplished, with pizazz., and demonstrating your support for their choices as well as your own peace of mind.
even meat-eating epicures who might have a bone to pick with vegetarianism should add "veganomicon" to their library in order to provide a gourmet offering to their growing number of family, friends and acquaintances who have made the "green" choice of vegetarianism.
vegetarians are so accustomed to being ignored and left nothing but mashed potatoes, salad, perhaps and an over-cooked vegetable as a dinner guest, won't they be surprised and honored to know that you went all out for them too, and not just your carrion carcass craving cohorts!Customer rating:
