The ISBN system was devised beginning in 1967, and books published prior to then don't have "editions" associated with them. It's very similar with movie, music and video game UPCs. This is Book Four of the Series they do need in some ways to be read in order, Erlender finally gets his life on track. There are an awful lot of flash backs in this book you can get lost for a moment. Still a very worthy Tome.
