Very Good. Original blue and white wraps, title on spine and front cover, publisher's device on rear cover, ads on rear flap; 8vo; pp. 289. Spine creased, and a little chipped at tips; closed tears along joints (but covers ar eholding). Some chipping in the gutter of first two leaves; prices inked out on flaps; otherwise contents are tight and clean. A scarce First Edition, published just as Hitler invaded France. It's been suggested that most of the surviving copies were carried out by Nin herself, when she left Paris.
Hardcover; Very Good rebound in gilt-stamped navy blue full-leather; originally bound in wraps;  no date listed; minor shelf wear to edges and extrems; softening and rubbing to corners and spine ends; light chipping to spine ends; small tear to rear joint at top spine end; both joints have small areas of minor cracking; hinges are very strong; two very small pink paint stains to top and bottom spine ends; pages are browned, particularly at margins; else a very clean and tight copy of this.
