Poor. HB, The Mershon Company, New York, no date but preface is dated 1855. Tan cloth on boards with orange and green borders and decoration is showing soil, shelfwear, and bumped corners. Page 145 has bottom corner torn off affecting 11 text lines, fep torn out, bookstore label on bep, contents browned and brittle, 6 pages of ads in back. Poor.
Very Good. No Jacket. 12mo-over 6¾-7¾" tall Green cloth with black stamped design and gold letter block on the spine and burgundy floral patterned end papers. Lightly rubbed and bumped. Strong hinges. The pages are bright and unmarked. 458pp. No date listed. Cir. 1880's.
