Very Good. First Edition, First Printing. Several pages show chipping and rips. Light rubbing and light wear to cloth, with sunning to spine. Front hinge exposed and rear hinge starting. A scarce title.
Very Good. An interesting First Edition of "Through the Brazilian Wilderness" by Theodore Roosevelt. In very good condition with still bright gilt lettering across the front board. Sharp corners with light rubbing. Beautiful gilt top edges with mild fading. Over 30 glossy black and white illustrations. 2 full page maps and a rear fold out map in quite bright and fine condition. No signs of foxing. Lovely rough cut pages that show natural darkening. Light to moderate chipping of cloth at spine ends, although title is still clear. Solid brown cloth binding with a small stain on back cover, rather minor. Split hinge at rear end page with some loose pages in middle section, although book still holds open well. Contemporaneous inscription. In very good condition, truly an admirable piece. A fascinating book detailing Roosevelt's adventurous trek in South America during the early 20th century.

TEG, Photogravure frontispiece and 48 half-tone plates, one folding and 2 full-page maps. A little worn at the extremities of the spine a very good plus copy. The account of Roosevelt's "zoogeographic reconnaissance" with the Brazilian explorer Rondon to discover if the Rio da Dúvida ("River of Doubt"), flowed into the Amazon.
Near Fine. 383 pp, ill, large folding map. TR's expedition and hunting trips through Brazil. Internally fine and with firm hinges (unusual in this thick books). Very near fine with almost no wear on the outside or inside and only minor spotting on the spine. This is the first edition, scarce enough on its own, but very scarce in this nice condition. Corners sharp and square, hinges firm. Large thick and heavy item.
