Copy number 15 of a limited printing of 975 printed by the Argonaut Press on Japon Vellum. The book is bound in blue cloth covered boards over Vellum spine, ribbon marker, and all edges uncut. After the appreciaiton by Temple, the text contains selections from contemporary accounts of Drake's circumnavigation. The original document has been lost and accounts by others is what remains. This copy is very good with some sunning to the top quarter of the top board as well as light soiling and wear, mainly to the edges.

It is number 907 of an edition of 975 printed on Japon Vellum with an original colored woodcut on the title page by William Monk and printed by Walter Lewis at the University Press, Cambridge. It contains a reprint of Drakes edition of 1628 of "The World Encompassed" plus the following contemporary documents: 1. Francis Fletcher's notes, 2. John Cooke's narrative, 3. Thomas Doughty's oration, 4. Nuno da Silva's relation, 5. Drake in California, 6. Edward Cliffe's story, 7. Sarmiento de Gamboa's report, 8. Don Francisco de Zarate's Letter, 9. San Juan de Anton's testimony, 10. Drake's letter of safe-conduct, 11. the charge against Drake of hanging captives. All are in English or translated into English

The limited edition, in addition to being printed on Japon vellum, also has an original woodcut illustration by British artist William Monk. This volume was later re-published as part of a 16 part set; both the original and the reprint are extremely scarce.
