Rich [1910-2007] was an American actress and sculptor, best known for her sculptures of saints and celebrities, including busts of Margaret Sanger, Katherine Hepburn, Diego Rivera, Virgil Thomson and others. One of her best-known works is the statue in Arlington National Cemetery that commemorates nurses who died during military service. Signed presentation from Rich on the title page: "For Geneva Weynick, with my best wishes to a near neighbor, Frances L. Rich. (with her initials within a drawn circle, dated March, 1987)."
