Fair. Published 1928, in two volumes. These are good reading copies. They are clean, straight hardcover books with clean though tanned text pages. Each chapter begins and ends with a woodcut designed by Wilfred Jones, who also created the frontispieces: Vol.1, The Agricultural Era, shows a farmer plowing with oxen; and Volume 2, The Industrial Era, shows mills and smokestacks. Corners of these books are bumped and the binding is rubbed. The spine covers are torn at the top of both books, and on Volume 1 the spine cover is almost entirely detached, though the hinges are holding well. No dust jacket. The books contain library stamps and pockets.
