Fine in Fine jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. 141 pages. This book is Jim Morrison's first published book of poetry, and it resounds with the driving rhythm, the sharp contrasts, and the often brutal honesty the identify the singular "Morrison" sound." FINE HARDCOVER, FINE DUST JACKET.
as jim left us so early in life, one might consider the large body of work created w/ the doors to have been enough. but mr morrison considered himself 'poet' and this lone volume of verse, it seems to me, contains his essential message.
the 2nd section of the book, the new creatures, readers might find to be the more accessable and it is lovely. i would suggest, however, that the lords be read more than twice and taken to heart.
as jim once said of his lyrics: "what did he say?" one should likewise ask this question upon reading the lords and the new creatures.
