White Trash Etiquette
This edition breaks down into White Trash "occasions". For a Westerner who was transplanted into the South this book has truly taught me how to manuever such occasions as Funerals and wakes, BBQ's, and Fish frys. Mostly it has taught me how open hearted, warm and kind these folks are. And it was a great book to send to my snotty Chef brother-in-law in Chicago.
Funerals in the South mean food, food and then more food. If folks in the neighborhood lose a family member, everyone pitches in and sends dinner whether you know them or not, 'cause when it's all over you'll have new friends or be much closer. I've had several funerals to go to since coming to Texas and thanks to this book I know how to pitch in.
The intro's to each "occasion"are just plain fun, my favorite being "Hawg Killins". I haven't been to one yet but I'll be ready when invited.
