spiritual growth can be reassuring

If you have ever desired to change in your understanding and relationship with "ultimate other" you may not skip the step of lostness and uncertainty, but there is success and understanding if you continue through the winter and allow spring and hope to come.

Book was well written and easy to read. It wasn't gloomy as I thought it would be but moved easily along and was very informative about the later books she wrote. I had read her book, History of God, which had impressed me , and I had seen her on History Channel and PBS.

Spiritual book for recovering Catholics

by Joani on Apr 26, 2007

This book is a great read. Karen's search for God took her from being a nun to the secular academic world and from that place into one of open communication with a larger vision of herself and our definition of "God". There she found a more encompassing God, a larger vision of what "spiritual" means. Her struggles with her beliefs are inspiring and informative for those of us on a similar quest for individuation and self-expression.
