Seven Story Mountain

A great journey story of navigating poetry and religion. This edition with larger print is easier to follow than older editions. A spiritual moveable feast set in Newy York City at Columbia as Merton through the Eucharist draws closer to his calling.

The book tells a beautiful narration of a nice religious life, with all its trials and rewards.

Excellent Conversion Story

i'm only through half the book, but it is an invaluable tool, a true testament, for any modern man who is a seeker. Most seekers that i know are led to a path to God, if their search is sincere ; here we have a very communicable biography of one such conversion. So far, I would even go so far as to rate it right up there with Augustine's " Confessions." To lead us in this modern world, we need more hearfelt and simple accounts such as Thomas Merton's.

Beatiful. He writes like a master.

Tomas Merton speaks about his own life in way that one could think one knows him and he is talking to us. I do not normally like to read non-fiction books but this one was very good and I could not stop reading.

Gets a bit heavy in Catholic Dogma and praise to the "godlike" Lady or Virgin Mary, but that's to be expected. I really like his psychology into why someone would change their life as he did,
