This copy is additionally inscribed by Lucie-Smith on the title page. The first of the "Five Great Odes" of Paul Claudel (1868-1955), the French author and diplomat who explored the relationship between man, the universe, and the divine in a highly poetic and original style. In a one-quarter blue calf over marbled paper binding, with the original wrappers bound in. The spine is a bit sun faded. Better than very good.
