Lin Yutang (1895-1976) was a Chinese writer, translator, linguist and inventor, who studied at Harvard and later at Leipzig University. Yutang taught English literature at Peking University and after 1935, he lived mainly in the United States where he authored a number of books, including this biography of Chinese poet Su Tungpo.
