Heimo Korth, whose life is told in this book, is one amazing human being. He has survived the most dire conditions of Alaska's wilderness, and kept his sanity, humor, and generous spirit. I found the book well written and exciting, all the more so because it is true.

Could not put this one down. One of the best books on the subject of the the Alaska bush and a man who lived a great life there. It was very appealing as it is set in recent times and brings to life the real remoteness of the area. Heimo Korth is one of the last of his kind and how great to be able to live some of it through the story. James Campbell did a superb jog with his use of jumping time lines and a good mix of eye witness accounts and personal stories.
