Good book

by Danielle F on May 9, 2014

This book has a really good story to it, but there are a lot of moments while I was reading that I thought "Oh geez, yes this is definitely J.K. Rowling because it's so wordy" (For those of you that aren't aware Robert Galbraith is a pseudonym J.K. Rowling used) Other than some wordy parts that made it sluggish it was a great story.

Well written but follows the formula

by Beatrice on Aug 20, 2013

J.K. Rowling is a very good, literate writer but the book disappointed because it followed the well worn formula of the private eye who can't pay the rent, the unexpectedly interesting temp secretary who shows up, a wealthy new client who drops in out of nowhere. Plus, it relied on glitz to pull you in -- fashion models who make 10 million a year, high end fashion designers, rich corrupt movie producers and their empty wives, gorgeous clothes and apartments -- all 2 dimensional stuff. It's entertaining but I hope the author's next book in the series uses more interesting characters.
