Very Good. Size: 12mo 7"-7; This University Edition of Browning's complete works was published by Sully And Kleinteich of New York in 1899, and it consists of six volumes, complete. Sturdy, attractive set, bound in dark green cloth, with gilt top page ends, rough-cut fore-edges, frontispiece portraits to each volume, protected by intact tissue guards, and neither underlining, notes, nor highlighting. Gilt titles to spines, very minor amounts of shelf-and edge-wear, slight bumping to spine heads and feet. Volume I consists of Pauline, Paracelsus, Pippa Passes, etc. Volume II is comprised by Dramatic Lyrics, The Return of the Druses, etc. Volume III features The Ring and Book and other works. Volume IV contains Christmas-Eve and Easter-Day, Men and Women, etc. Volume V features Red Cotton Night-Cap Country, Aristophanes' Apology, and other works. The final, sixth volume contains The Agamemnon of Aeschylus, La Saisiaz, and a number of other lesser works. The set is heavy and oversized, quite handsomely produced, and looks great on the shelf. Volume VI has about four pages mid-way with slight, short closed tear to fore-edge. Volume II shows slight crimping to upper corner, barely noticeable.
