Excellent informative book, more detail and specific characteristics of each bird not found elsewhere... Thanks to all involved in this identification guide.

I was pleased with this book about birds. It is a very thorough book. More of the encyclopedia type of study book. It did not have any colored pictures. I was looking for and prefer a book more condusive to 'look up quick" pages as I watch birds from my kitchen window. The price was very reasonable from Albris Books. Wonderful reference book.

full of gems
This book has details we don't find in bird books. And it's full of details of the lives of birds in the essays. It really enhances my view of the birds I love to watch. I keep it on my coffee table to pick up for 5 minutes to read another essay. I highly recommend this book to birders, both avid and casual.
