If you think you or any member of your family may have Bipolar Disorder then this book can be a great read for you. I thought about reading this book before I started into Special Education and it was very good that I did. This book was really before it's time, Dr Papolos and his wife Janice, along with some others followed families who's lives were out of control because one or more of their family members were bipolar. It even tells that many children today are being misdiagnosed with ADD and sometimes ADHD when in reality some of them have Bipolar disorder. It was such a good book, it even went into detail about how to deal with teachers, and school nurses and make them understand this affects the child's ability to learn. The IEP process was even laid out along with other types of problems and medications that may be given to help each person. Each case is unique and has to be treated as such and the authors do just that. I was totally fascinated by this book and thought it was extremely well written for the average person to understand.
