Bright, very clean, tight and square book with just a trace of wear to the spine ends. No sunning or staining. No bumping to the edges. Outer edges of the text block are very clean. Interior is flawless except for the slight age-toning to the pages which occurs in practically every copy due to the paper used. No previous owner's signature. Pages appear unread. Dust jacket is very clean with light sun-toning across the entire exterior. One-half inch chips to both spine ends. One-half inch open tears on the top and bottom edges of the front panel and the top edge of the rear panel. Light wear to the spine folds and a couple of closed tears on the spine. Moderate wear to the fore edge and corners. Creasing and edge wear along the top and bottom edges of both the front and rear panels. Still, the jacket retains a pleasing, Very Good appearance as there is no staining, soiling or rubbing. Jacket is protected in a removable archival mylar cover. This is Michener's first published book.
