Very Good Plus in Very Good jacket. Commentary and notes by Graves on Lawrence's communications to him and commentary and notes by Basil Liddell Hart on Lawrence's communications to him. This material was produced by Lawrence at the time that Graves was preparing his biography ( published in 1927 ) and at the time that Liddell Hart was preparing his biography ( published in 1934 ). This material was originally published in two limited edition volumes shortly after Lawrence's death. The work is published here as one volume with the permission of the Lawrence Trustees who hold the copyright to his work. The Trustees required that this work not be published until six months after David Garnett's LETTERS which they authorized. Light rubbing to dust jacket at top and bottom of spine.
Very Good in Very Good jacket. 6 1/2 x 9 1/2. 2 volume boxed set. The set was limited to 1000 copies-500 of which were available in US. Both volumes are numbered 116 and each volume signed by the author (Graves / Hart). The Graves volume DJ is very good condition with no flaws. The book is also very good condition, w/only slight browning to endpapers. Hart volume DJ has a small clean tear on middle front and light browning to the cream colored paper-all now protected by mylar jacket. Book is very good condition. The box is in good condition with some rubbing at edges and slightly worn-but respectable. Both volumes has gilt top edge.

The Robert Graves volume is signed by Graves; The Liddell Hart volume is signed by Hart. Both volumes are Near Fine, top edges gilt, with a previous owner's name penciled on the front pastedown in Very Good plus dust jackets with age darkening to the spines; offsetting to the front panel of the Hart volume and to the rear panel of the Graves volume.
