In 1998, she was the recipient of the prestigious Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Arts (SECA) Award from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and in 1999 was selected to appear in the 2000 Biennial Exhibition at the Whitney Museum in New York. Reid's work is included in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, NY, The Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, The National Gallery, DC, The Hammer Museum of Art, Los Angeles, The San Francisco Museum of Art and The Philadelphia Museum of Art, among others; and "Barbara Guest is the author of over twenty books of poetry and fiction.
