One of the biggest box office hits of 1950s, "South Pacific" is a winning film adaptation of the classic musical, with the focus properly placed on the Rodgers and Hammerstein songs, which include "Some Enchanted Evening, " "Bali H'ai, " "There is Nothing Like a Dame, " "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy, " and others. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Sound, and nominated for two others.
