Author's dedication to Tennyson as preface. Frontis of Browning (detached and laid-in). Overall VG-but with extremes in quality of particular features ranging from G to NF. Boards are well worn with cloth loss along the edges and bumped corners; fraying with the wear to extreme spine ends. 2 1/2" x 3/4" patch of severe rubbing (though not loss of cloth through to boards) upper rear corner. Still, central panels and spine are very good with the front cloth and titles very bright and near fine. Binding and hinges tight and square with only slight play upper front gutter; loose frontis sheet only exception, as is the toning to frontis, tissue and adjacent title page. Otherwise pages quite bright and sharp with only hints of toning along margins well outside black-fringe borders around poems. Occasional rough edge pages and creased pre-title page. 1 1/2" x 3/4" chip along fore edge rear free endpaper. No marks within or without save for very faint former price upper corner ffep.
Good. No dust jacket. Binding copy. Leather etached from front annd mostly missing, leather on spine and back torn with pieces missing. Light stains on title, copyright, and dedication pages.
