What a wonderful book. This should be rated AAAAAA. The research was right on. Being raised Catholic, not onlt have I heard of "Pope Joan", but I also know the politics and thinking orf the times. Ms. Cross had all of it perfect. A perfectly wonderful and engaging book.
Pope Joan is an excellent book and should be read by anyone interested in the history of the Popes and of women who are role models for all of us. I so enjoy a story that has some historical reference to it. I love books about women who have traveled outside the normal role of women and this was certainly a wonderful journey! It gave me so much in the way of the culture of the time and the way women were viewed.
