I am Princess Meredith, heir to a throne of faerie. Once upon a time I had a day job. I was a private detective, but being a princess seems to have become a full-time occupation...My aunt, the Queen of Air and Darkness, will have it no other way. I am virtually a prisoner here, incarcerated with some of our world's most beautiful men to serve as my bodyguards...and my lovers. For I have a duty to perform: I must produce an heir. They say practice makes perfect; well, that may be. The pleasures have been many but there is still no sign of a child, and no heir means no throne. But that's the least of it. If I fail, my life is forfeit - death awaits at the vengeful hands of my cousin Cel and his followers. Now Mistral, captain of the queen's guard, has come to my bed. In doing so, he defies her and risks her terrible wrath. But our joining together has a mystical power so ancient that none can stand against it and survive - not even my Storm Lord, Mistral himself. And yet because he helped bring forth this magic forth, he may live another day? If I can reclaim control of the fey power that once was, there is hope. I might still defeat those who would see me fall. I might yet survive...Between the darkest faerie magic and the deepest desires of the flesh lies the twilight world of Meredith Gentry - princess, private eye and powerful player in a deadly game of supernatural and sexual intrigue. And this is her most eerie and erotic adventure yet.

Read the first four books first
This is another wonderful fantasy book in the series of Meredith Gentry. Ms. Hamilton has a most fertile mind and uses it to the fullest. This book continues the quest of Meredith to become pregnant and the stories of how she restores magic and powers back to her lovers. At the same time she still has to out smart a host of enemies who don't want her to get pregnant and certainly don't want her to become queen. If your into lusty, hot, spine-tingling (and other places) sex, this series is your sexual slave dream.
Publishers Weekly, 2006-10-30 In bestseller Hamilton's steamy fifth in the Meredith Gentry fantasy series (after 2005's A Stroke of Midnight), the fey former Los Angeles PI has given up detecting and fully embraced her duties as Princess Meredith Nicesus, potential heir to the faerie throne. Since the extremely orgasmic princess's foremost duty is to prove her fertility in order to gain the throne, she spends most of her time bedding her immortal sidhe royal guardsmen, giving each a fair shot as her future consort. All the group sex has a profoundly transformative effect: her men are regaining their full powers, and the long-dead faerie gardens are springing to life. But when Meredith and her merry men inadvertently find themselves in the territory of King Sholto, who has been betrayed by others in the faerie court, there's deadly danger even for immortals. Lots of earth-shattering, supernatural sex and a rousing climactic battle will have Hamilton's fans panting for more. (Dec.) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
