VG-clean, tight interior but with some age toning to page edges and shadowing on title page from frontis opposite. Covers rubbed but gilt still bright. A fascinating study and visuals of the area near Philadelphia known as "The Main Line" because of the Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad (now part of Amtrak) running through all the small towns. The locals also call this section "The Burbs." With archival bw photos and lots of genealogical information on this tract settled by Welsh Quakers. Included is a fold-out geneaology of the Descendants of Isaac Lloyd.
The book covers the history of some of the families who settled just west of Philadelphia, PA in the 18th and 19th centuries. My great grandfather was one of the sponsors for the book. I found out more about some members of my own family - English and Dutch.
