This book is approximately 29 years old. It is mainly a technical reference manual for hobby machinist, machinist and engineers with a total of 2482 pages of technical information ,charts, mathematics and formulas that much of which can be used with my hobby. The newer versions 28th printing is available. I was pleased that the older verson was received here in such excellent condition for its age and practically new looking really surprised me.

Simply this is the Bible in the Machinist's World. I am Millwright, and in the course of that craft, I machine and fabricate. Personally, my preference has always gone to some of the older editions of technical and reference manuals. Some information, however, remains relatively timeless. This is one of those instances. I highly recommend this book, in whatever edition is available, to the serious machinist, millwright, engineer, draftsman, of toolmaker.

Anyone who does machining needs this reference book. It's been published for many years, and the edition you want is somewhat irrelevant. That said, if you have older machine tools it may be advisable to buy the edition closest to the manufactured date of your lathe or mill.
