Very Good. Hardcover. Victor Gollancz, 1959; 1st edn. bound in green buckram in very fine condition; 200pp with 13 plates on Kensington Gdns, 18 on Hyde Park; 38 on Green Park; some line engravings in text. The author's preface begins: London Green stretches from the south-eastern tip of St. James's Park, at Storey's Gate, to the far north-western corner of Kensington Gardens, at Bull's Gate. Such at least is the geographical explanation of my title. Yet apart from telling the story of these four royal parks, I have also tried to interpret their lie in the land; to show why each, with its particular character, has attracted a particular kind of person and hence history. 9¼x6¼in.....We ship daily from our Bookshop.
