It was thrilling to see the beginnings of what would later become classic literary diaries. I was consistently stunned by the level of sensitivity and awareness that Miss Nin displayed at so young an age as when she began these diaries (eleven). It was lovely to follow her daily rituals in NYC; her descriptions were as vivid then as they were when she was older. The overall work, like most diaries, gives an accurate account of the era in which she lived . . . beautiful work!
