Toebe Leather merchant in Philadelphia on the front fly. Perhaps he sold the book. The cover of this book is very interesting. It is a dark blue cloth with elaborate pressed designs and title made to simulate the leather work which is illustrated inside. The back of the cover is also decorated with wild animals and curly designs and a pair of leather boots and the inscription " In warfare and weather there is nothing like leather" The spine has the title and the author's name but the gilt in it has faded. All in all, a remarkable book and interesting binding Index. Clean crisp and tight.
