Great Chemistry

by BobCumbow on Sep 10, 2009

This unfairly maligned drama about deadly reactor failure aboard a Soviet nuclear submarine is terrifically tense and boasts one of Harrison Ford's least typical and most satisfying performances, enhanced by the remarkable chemistry between his character and Liam Neeson's. The only false step in the film may be the plethora of endings and epilogues, not quite necessary and after awhile, a little tiring. But the film proper is edge-of-the-seat stuff, with a lot of thoughtfulness behind it.
