SIGNED. 363; 553pp. Octavo [22 cm] Full light blue cloth with gilt stamped titles on front boards and back strips. Volume One: The Apostle, 1836-1877. Volume Two: The President, 1877-1887. Both volumes are in near fine condition. The edges are very lightly rubbed and bumped. The endsheets are subtly yellowed along the hinges. The dust jackets are in very good condition, with light soiling. The top edges of the jacket are subtly discolored. The price on the jacket of volume 1 has been blacked out. There are a couple of short closed tears in the edges of volume 1. The longest closed tear measures 1/2 inch long. There are also several small scribbles in pen on the spine of this jacket. Hard to find both volumes in nice dust jackets. Inscribed by Samuel W. Taylor on the front free endsheet of volume 1.
