Wondering why the Nobel has (occasionally) gone to non-classical economists in the last 15 years? Read this and Elinor Ostrom's Governing the Commons and you will have hit two recent Nobels who can give you an idea of where some of the most thought-provoking work in economics has been going. Immensely readable. I took it on a ski trip and looked forward to it every night by the fire. It did make me want to take notes, though. (PS - Ostrom's is a good read too).
