Fair. No dust jacket. Front cover marred by moisture ring that shows through to inside front. Several inscriptions on end-paper and title page. Internally clean and unmarked. 298 p. plus advertisements. A somewhat flawed copy of an early edition of a classic book on golf, written by one of the first golf masters--Harry Vardon.
First edition. Octavo, original red cloth with titles to the spine in gilt. In very good condition. Signed by Harry Vardon on the front free endpaper. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box. Books signed by the legendary golfer are rare. Harry Vardon was a member of the Great Triumvirate of the sport in his day, along with John Henry Taylor and James Braid. He went on to win The British Open Championship a record six times and also won the U.S. Open.
