Review: Gone for Soldiers

Many historians are reluctant to write anything about the Mexican War. For a long time I did not understand why. This book gave me a good idea for that. It was, quite frankly, an unpopular conflict. It was truly a senceless war. The only principle was "Manifest Destiney." The conflict was essentially one of the biggest bully on the block, the U.S. It did, however, give credence to many furure Civil War generals. A good book, well written. I just like Jeff Shaara as an author.
